Carrying the Bride Through the Threshold

In ancient times, sometimes the bride was unwilling and the wedding was accompanied by a kidnapping.  This comes from this story, but obviously today most brides are willing.

The Veil

The veil is used in Western societies as a symbol of the purity of the bride.  The husband ceremonially lifts the veil to signify his right to marry her.

Honeymoon

The honeymoon will be at the Marriot in Torrance, California.  It will cost $299 per night.  The area is filled with sight-seeing opportunities

Reception

The reception is going to be held at the same location as the wedding, the Walt Disney Concert Hall.

Theme!

The wedding will be filled with extravagant colors, emphasizing the bright and sunny feel.
 
The wedding will take place during the lovely late summer season of southern California,inspiring the white, blue,and yellow color scheme.

Bridal Party

Megan's little sister Foxy will be the Maid of Honor. Typically a sister or trusted best friend fills in this role.This memeber of the bridal party throws the bridal shower, helps with the invatations, accompanies bride to all pre-wedding pampering appointments (manicure, proffessionally done make up, etc.), and holds the bride's wedding dress in place. She also holds the groom's wedding ring and signs the wedding certificate.

Megan's three best friends from college Susie, Blare, and Tracy will be her bridesmaids. These woman must contribute to the bridal gifts, attend the shower, dance and mingle with the groomsmen and other guests, and walk in the wedding procession.\

Last but not least, the Flower Girl will be 5 year old neice, Amanda. This is typicallya young child who holds a basket of flowers down the aisle and throws the petals onto the ground.

Invitations

We will soon be sending out invitations to our guests.



We will use silk.  It's classy and green.  It costs $1.10 per invite.  We are sending 250 invites.  This will cost $275 total.

DJ and Band

We will be hiring West Swell as the band and DJ Foster as the DJ.  West Swell will play for 300 dollars and DJ Foster will play for 50 bucks.  The only request is Bittersweet Symphony.  West Swell plays reggae and rockabilly jams.

Flowers

The flowers will follow a blue and white color scheme.  White represents purity, and blue represents the new bond between Jeff and Megan.  The total price of the flowers will be 698 dollars through freshroses.com.

Cake

Jeff and Megan will be getting a large cake, perfect for the amount of guests present.  It will follow the wedding color scheme.  It will cost 750 dollars through the Torrance Bakery.

Theme

The wedding will be large, and will follow along with the light blue/ yellow/ white color scheme which matches with the colors worn by the bridesmaids and groomsmen.  The wedding will have a summer date, and we feel that those colors correspond with the summery atmosphere.

Bridal Party Attire

The bridesmaids will be wearing light blue dresses from David's Bridal at $130.00 each.

The groomsmen will wear traditional tuxedos with yellow ties.The ties are $49.00 from Men's Warehouse and the tuxedos are $699.00 from Men's Warehouse.

Location

The Walt Disney Concert Hall will be the wedding location.  It will take place in the multi-use theater where seating is about 250.  It features a terrace bar, a parking garage, and a founders room.  The price is not an object to the parents, but rent for the evening costs 2000 dollars.  There are additional charges for meals based on how many people choose to eat them.  We are asking the guests to pay for their meal.

Pop The Question

Before every wedding, there has to be the proposal.  Jeff had it all planned out.  They were on vacation in Yosemite, one of the most scenic destinations in America.  They went up to Glacier Point, the spot where the rest of the valley could be seen.  As Megan was gazing at the sight, Jeff surprised her by getting down on one knee and asking to marry him.  She said yes.  The end.

Meet Jeff and Megan

Jeff and Megan met each other three years ago, through a mutual friend.  Almost instantly it has been a constant connection.  Megan moved in with Jeff after he proposed, with the support of both of their parents.
